Enhancing Collaborative Communication During Hard Times

Register Today

Relationships are a foundation of well-being, functioning, sense of purpose, and belonging. During challenging times, strain within relationships can impact not only individuals but entire groups, making effective communication and collaboration more important than ever.

This interactive webinar, presented by Joe Arpaia, M.D., Kristi Harrison, Ph.D., LMFT, and Deanna Linville, Ph.D., LMFT, will explore how shared values and practices can serve as a guide for navigating difficult moments together. Using “the cell phone and the horse” metaphor, participants will gain practical tools to remain calm and grounded when emotions are heightened, better understand their own patterns under pressure, and leverage collaborative problem-solving to transform tension into understanding and forward movement. Attendees will learn how to integrate these skills into everyday communication, promoting intentional action rooted in shared goals.

Participants will be able to:

  1. recognize signs of visceral distress associated with difficult interactions and tension in relationships.

  2. assess group level needs and strengths that influence relational functioning.

  3. describe 3 tools to navigate tension and hard conversations more calmly while building collaboration and understanding.

  4. identify ways to foster trust, connection, and collaboration.

  5. assist groups (organizations, teams, families) to identify shared values and practices that cultivate climates of self-awareness, relational health, and collaboration.

The workshop will be held on April 10, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM as a live Zoom webinar.

The cost of this workshop is $125 for licensed healthcare professionals and other professionals in leadership and $75 for students, pre-licensed healthcare professionals, and early career professionals.
