Conversations about climate change are growing louder and more polarized, while climate-related disasters continue to affect communities in very different ways. For therapists, this presents a dual challenge: climate distress is shaping clients’ lives, and it is also shaping their own.
This interactive webinar, presented by Kristi Harrison, Ph.D., LMFT, will explore how to recognize and address the emotional impact of climate change in clinical practice. Participants will gain language to understand climate-related stress, tools for navigating the varied ways clients engage with these issues, and strategies to reduce burnout while cultivating resilience.
The cost of this workshop is $100 for licensed therapists/clinicians and $75 for pre-licensed clinicians and students.
Presenter: Kristi Harrison, Ph.D., LMFT is the founder of Consilience Coaching & Consulting, a practice dedicated to helping individuals and organizations navigate the mental health and wellbeing implications of climate change, with specific focus on frontline professionals engaged in sustainability, social impact, and health professions.
Kristi is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CO, MI) with master’s and doctoral degrees in human development. She brings knowledge and experience in the areas of program evaluation, adult learning theory and instructional design, and organizational equity and cultural responsiveness, in addition to the psychology of climate change.
