John Holdway
John Holdway, M.A. (Candidate) is a mental health therapist graduating from Bushnell University in December and is excited to join the team at the Center for Transformative Healing. He will begin working with clients in early 2026, under the supervision of Deanna Linville, Ph.D., LMFT, as he pursues full licensure. For the past year, John has worked at Serenity Lane as a student mental health therapist, supporting individuals in recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. John's decision to pursue a second career as a mental health therapist was inspired by his volunteer work with Lane County Search and Rescue.
Before entering the counseling field, John spent over 35 years as a professional artist. His creative background deeply informs his therapeutic approach, integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with expressive arts to help clients connect with their values, express their inner world, and live with greater authenticity. John's work is guided by the belief that everyone deserves access to the benefits of optimal mental health. He especially enjoys supporting individuals and their loved ones who are seeking help for anxiety, depression, addiction, creative blocks, and men’s issues, as well as those who are searching for meaning and purpose in their lives.
Outside of his professional life, John enjoys his volunteer work with Lane County Search and Rescue, hiking, art making, social games, and spending time with family.
