Deanna Linville, Ph.D., LMFT
Dr. Deanna Linville graduated with her M.S. degree in 2000 and her Ph.D. degree in 2003 from Virginia Tech. Deanna not only provides research and evaluation consultation to other professionals and organizations but has led the development and testing of multiple clinical intervention studies across the last 15 years. She has a wealth of experience consulting with universities, organizations, athletic teams, and research groups, offering expertise in relationship dynamics, systems thinking, and evidence-based intervention design. A former Division I college athlete and coach, Deanna brings a unique lens to her consulting work, especially when working with dynamic teams and leadership development.
Deanna was at the University of Oregon for 19 years in various faculty roles, where she built her program of research and had the pleasure of working on multi-disciplinary teams with colleagues and students. Currently, she teaches courses at Daybreak University and Chaminade University as well as works with graduate students to help them design their dissertation studies. In addition, Deanna provides consultation to the programs and faculty around accreditation and clinical research.
Deanna’s research foci are to develop and test clinical interventions that can reduce the disease burden on underserved communities, conduct community-based needs assessments, and use qualitative research methodologies to understand processes of change and emphasize the voices of key stakeholders.
She has over 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books that demonstrate the versatility of her work and the emphasis she places on multidisciplinary collaborations. Media outlets such as The New York Times, The Conversation, and Mental Health Radio Network have highlighted her work.
